Applications are open for the AFPC-USA Professional Excellence Awards Program 2024-2025. The Association of Foreign Press Correspondents in the USA (AFPC-USA) recognizes U.S.-based foreign journalists who publish abroad in radio, TV, online, print, and online foreign media.
The published reporting must fall into only one of the following categories:
- Global Health and COVID-19
- Technology
- Environment and Climate Change
- Minorities, Inequality, and Discrimination
- Business and Economics
- International/National Politics
- Misinformation
- Arts and Entertainment
Benefits
- An award of excellence will be accompanied by monetary support.
Eligibility
- All international journalists working for foreign media outlets accredited as journalists in the United States can apply.
- To be eligible for an award, international correspondents must submit no more than one piece of professional work published in any format (print, radio, online, broadcast, or print) for an international media outlet in the year 2023 or 2024.
- Applicants are not allowed to submit more than one professional work, and each work must fall within one of the categories listed above.
- Reporting work that is in a foreign language needs to be accompanied by a translation into English.
