MentorHas JAMB started giving admission to UTME and the Direct Entry Candidates in 2022?
Just recently some candidates seeking admission asked me about when JAMB will start giving admission in the 2022/2023 session. My replies were hard on then but read on my explanation breaking down how admission processes are being organized in Nigeria especially this session.
To clear your doubt, JAMB has NOT started giving admission to the 2022 UTME and D.E candidates. The news concerning candidates that are yet to accept their admission was referring to 2019 candidates. It has nothing to do with 2022 candidates.
In fact, Post UTME Forms for various Universities are still being released, and JAMB recently announced the general cut off marks for all schools.
JAMB Admission Process Follows the below Pattern:
- JAMB registration and examination date
- The release of JAMB results
- JAMB sending results/scores to various institutions
- General and departmental Cut off Marks.
- Uploading of awaiting results to JAMB portal
- Post UTME examination and admission screening hold.
- Various institutions send a list of successful candidates to Jamb via the JAMB CAPS portal.
- JAMB and Schools start releasing admission lists for candidates to check.
- Original result slip and Jamb admission letter printing.
Conclusion
In the meantime, all admission seekers for the 2022 session should relax and wait until JAMB officially announces the resumption of activities for the year, obviously after the lockdown. Then, activities such as change of institutions and courses, the printing of results, and more can continue as usual.
Any admission lists news should be addressing the last admission seekers. 2022 candidates shouldn’t expect any admission offers until all post UTMEs and screenings are done for the year 2022.
